CHECK THE ENERGY GUIDE LABEL
It Can Be Your Guide to Savings

Here are a few tips for reading the EnergyGuide label:

1)         The appliance type and capacity are listed on the upper left side of the label beneath the word “Energy.’’

2)         The manufacturer’s name and model number are found beneath the word “Guide.”

3)         The black bar in the center of the label is a scale that displays the range of energy consumption. The lowest estimated annual energy consumption figure is on the left side; the highest estimated annual energy consumption figure is on the right.

4)         The arrow with a number on top represents the usage of the appliance and allows you to easily compare it with other similar models.

5)         The dollar figure at the bottom is the estimated annual cost to operate. Annual costs will be affected by your local utility rates and personal usage habits.
