METER READING
During 2006, UGI began installing ERT’s (Encoder/Receiver/Transmitter) on all meters located inside people’s homes. This technology has allowed UGI to perform actual meter readings on all customer meters each month. The reads are used to bill our customers for the amount of gas consumed in their home or business. Throughout most of the year, UGI will be able to secure an actual meter reading. However, there may be times when it is necessary to estimate a bill. The need for an estimated bill can be due to extreme weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that would prevent UGI from obtaining an actual meter reading.
