SERVICE, METER & DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS
- UGI Penn Natural Gas will provide a service line
from its distribution main to the customer's building. A metering
device will be set at this point, known as the point of delivery.
With the exception of its pressure regulators, the Company's ownership
and responsibility ends at this point.
- UGI Penn Natural Gas will do its best to accomodate
customer requests regarding service and meter locations for newly
constructed buildings as long as those requests are economically
feasible and fall within Company policies and procedures. However,
changes in the location of UGI Penn Natural Gas equipment, for the accomodation
of the customer, may be at the customer's expense. Furthermore, service
lines, regulators and meters have a limited capacity and no addition
to the equipment or connected load should be made without UGI Penn Natural Gas'
written consent. Damage to UGI Penn Natural Gas' equipment, resulting from
a violation of this procedure, is the liability of the customer.
- Service lines will, for the most part, be installed perpendicular to Company distribution mains. Whenever deemed necessary by the Company, the customer shall provide, without charge, a right-of-way acceptable to the Company for such pipes, appurtenances or equipment as are necessary to the furnishing of service.
- Customers requiring
delivery pressure in PSI (Pounds/Square Inch) rather than "WC
(Inches/Water Column) must submit a written request at the time of
application to the Manager
of Systems Operations and Maintenance. This request should include
a complete piping layout along with inputs and operating pressures
of the equipment to be installed.
- Prior to gas service being activated or resumed, all newly installed gas piping must be tested by the installing contractor, according to National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) and manufacturer specifications, and certified to be leak free. When testing has been completed, the installing contractor must mail or fax a copy of the Test Verification Post Card to one of the local marketing offices listed below and contact UGI Penn Natural Gas Customer Service at 1-800-432-8017 or 1-888-743-6374 to schedule a turn-on.
