HomeServe and UGI Penn Natural Gas Partner to Offer Expanded Service Plan Options

HomeServe Acquires UGI PNG’s CustomCare Service Contract Business
Reading, PA – June 30, 2015 – HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home repair solutions and turnkey energy-related services, today announced the expansion of the agreement with UGI Penn Natural Gas (UGI PNG) to provide a robust portfolio of optional home repair service plans to UGI PNG customers in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.
Through the agreement, HomeServe acquired UGI PNG’s CustomCare service contract business to support and grow the customer base and expand the services available to UGI PNG customers beyond the current heating, water heater and gas appliance maintenance and repair plans. The transition of approximately 11,000 UGI PNG CustomCare customers to HomeServe began on June 1 of this year.
Beginning this month, HomeServe will expand service offerings to provide Interior Gas Line, Water Heater, and Heating and Cooling Coverage as additional service plan options under the UGI Penn Service umbrella. HomeServe will make these service plans available to the approximately 150,000 UGI PNG residential customers located in 13 counties throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania, including customers in and around Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport.
CustomCare and UGI Penn Service plan holders will have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to bring local, licensed and insured contractors right to the plan holders’ homes for repairs. The plans can save homeowners hundreds of dollars or more on household repairs that are typically not covered by basic homeowners insurance or by UGI PNG. Participating customers will have several convenient payment options available. The plans start at $4.99 a month.
