Natural Gas Construction Project to Cause Traffic Delays

30 Oct 2009

Reading, PA – UGI Penn Natural Gas will begin a construction project on Monday, November 2 that will cause traffic delays on a busy Wilkes-Barre roadway.

The construction project will take place on River Road between Chestnut Street and the Waterfront Complex and will cause traffic delays approaching the area in both directions. The road will be restricted to one-lane traffic for approximately 7-10 days. UGI suggests commuters avoid this area during construction if possible.

The project is being undertaken to accommodate future bridge work planned by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

UGI Penn Natural Gas is a wholly owned subsidiary of UGI Utilities, Inc. UGI Penn Natural Gas serves approximately 158,000 customers in 13 counties throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania, including customers in and around Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport.
