Scheduled Facility Power Outage to Limit UGI Customer Service for NonEmergencies

Reading PA, (March 20, 2008) – UGI Utilities customers are advised that a scheduled power outage at UGI’s call center facility this weekend will prevent the utility from providing customer service for non-emergencies, such as billing inquiries.
Calls related to emergencies such as natural gas leaks and electric power outages will continue to be processed and dispatched.

The power outage at UGI’s facility is scheduled to begin at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 and conclude at 6:00 p.m. that same day. The scheduled outage is necessary to accommodate a major electrical system upgrade.
During the scheduled outage, customers should continue to call UGI to report a natural gas leak or electric power outage. Customers with billing inquiries, routine service turnon and shut-off requests, etc. must call UGI before 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21 or wait until next week.
Due to the holiday weekend and the scheduled power outage, UGI anticipates a high customer call volume on Monday morning, March 24. The company appreciates any effort that customers can make to hold routine inquiries an extra day or two, if possible.
