UGI Announces Bloomsburg Infrastructure Project

UGI Utilities, Inc. will begin a natural gas main replacement project in the Town of Bloomsburg in Columbia County on Monday, July 11, 2022.

The natural gas main replacement project will encompass the following streets:

• North Street from Lightstreet Road to East 1st Street;
• East 1st Street from North Street to North Penn Street;
• Chestnut Avenue from East 1st Street to Lockard Avenue;
• Eyer Street from North Iron Street to Glenn Avenue;
• Glenn Avenue from Iron Street to North Street.

Approximately 5,000 feet of non-contemporary main will be replaced. This project will also renew gas service lines to approximately 40 customers.

Construction hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of Saturday work. During construction hours, residents will experience detours and traffic delays. Parking also will be restricted on those blocks during construction hours. The project is expected to be completed by September.
