UGI Announces “GET Gas” Infrastructure Project in Waymart
18 Mar 2020
UGI Utilities, Inc. plans to begin a natural gas main construction project in the borough of Waymart the week of March 23. The project is part of the Company’s GET (Growth Extension Tariff) Gas initiative designed to extend service to residents and businesses who currently do not have access to natural gas.
UGI will install more than 38,000 feet – or more than seven miles – of mains throughout the borough to provide access to natural gas to more than 365 homes and businesses.
During construction hours, residents and commuters should expect delays and parking restrictions. Traffic will be restricted to one lane.
Construction hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flaggers will direct traffic in the area. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the calendar year. UGI appreciates the patience and understanding of residents as the Company completes this long-term infrastructure improvement.

This Project was financed in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.
