UGI Announces Lower Macungie Township Infrastructure Project

08 Aug 2022

UGI Utilities, Inc. will begin a natural gas main construction project in Lower Macungie Township in Lehigh County on Monday, August 8, 2022.

Construction will take place primarily along Route 100 between Quarry Road and Spring Creek Road. More than 4,300 feet of high-pressure steel pipeline will be installed to provide additional natural gas supply to the area.

Construction hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. During construction hours, residents will experience traffic delays near the intersection of Spring Creek Road and Trexlertown Road. The roadway will be reduced to one lane in the construction area during work hours. The project is expected to be completed by the end of November.

“UGI recognizes area residents may be inconvenienced during this project. We will work to complete construction in a timely manner,” Tim Angstadt, Vice President of Operations, said. “This project is part of UGI’s continuing commitment to provide safe and reliable natural gas service to our customers and our communities. We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we make this long-term system improvement.”
