August 20, 2016 – UGI will begin a paving project in the City of Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes-Barre Township beginning August 22, 2016. UGI, will repave the 300 and 400 blocks of Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard, including the intersection with Coal Street.
The project is expected to be completed by Friday, August 26, weather permitting. Repaving work will be conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the construction period.
Residents and drivers traveling in area should note that lane restrictions will be in effect during the project, and should consider alternate routes. Motorists driving through the repaving project zone are urged to watch for roadwork signs, and to follow the directions of flag personnel.
“UGI recognizes residents will be inconvenienced during this project. We will work to complete the paving project in a timely manner,” Robert P. Krieger, vice president of operations, said. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding, and we thank the city of Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes-Barre Township for their cooperation in the execution of this project.”
