UGI Announces Williamsport Construction Project
05 May 2020
UGI Utilities, Inc. will start a natural gas main replacement project in the City of Williamsport the week of May 11. This project is part of the Company’s multi-year infrastructure betterment initiative.
The project will install approximately 4,500 feet of natural gas main and renew 31 service lines to homes and businesses.
This project will take place with a modified construction schedule in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, UGI construction will focus on replacing gas mains located in the street.
The service line renewal process, which requires access to homes and businesses, will be postponed to a later date due to social distancing guidelines. UGI will contact affected residents when service line work will be performed and access to properties is needed.
Construction will take place on the following streets:
- Entire length of Graham Road;
- Campbell Street to James Street.
- One block of Marshall Court from Campbell Street.
UGI will perform all work with enhanced safety protocols consistent with orders from Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June.
Construction hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. During construction, residents will experience traffic delays and road closures. Parking also will be restricted on those blocks during construction hours. Flaggers will direct traffic during construction.
