READING, PA, July 31, 2014 – UGI Central Penn Gas (UGI-CPG) will begin a natural gas facility improvement project on Wyoming Avenue (Route 11) at the border of Exeter Borough and West Pittston Borough beginning Monday, August 4, 2014.
Specifically, UGI-CPG will be working at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Tunkhannock Avenue and Erie Street. Crews will work from 7 AM until 6 PM Monday through Friday. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete on August 12.
The project will focus on replacing a 4-inch natural gas main located beneath the intersection.
Motorists may experience some traffic delays due to this work. During the construction, Erie Street will be closed at Wyoming Avenue. In addition, lane restrictions will be in place to safely route traffic through the construction zone.
“UGI recognizes that some residents will be inconvenienced during the project, and we will work to complete construction in a timely manner,” Robert P. Krieger, vice president of operations, said. “These projects are part of UGI’s continuing commitment to provide safe and reliable natural gas service to our customers and our communities and we appreciate our customers’ and the community’s understanding as we make long-term system improvements. We also thank the Boroughs of West Pittston and Exeter for their cooperation and assistance in planning and executing these efforts.”
