Organization to purchase music with funds from UGI’s ‘Blog for Bucks’ Campaign
Reading, PA (July 26, 2013) – Representatives of UGI Utilities, Inc. (UGI) presented a check in the amount of $500 to Hamilton-Gibson Productions today. Hamilton-Gibson Productions is one of five organizations selected from over 500 nominations in UGI’s June Blog for Bucks campaign. The campaign invited community members and employees to nominate their favorite organization on the Blog for Bucks post on UGI’s blog, UGI Connection.
“The gift from UGI will help to purchase new music that the choirs will use throughout the year in local concerts, in addition to the performance tour that is part of the 67 Initiative: the goal to sing in all the counties in the state of Pennsylvania,” said Thomas Putnam, Artistic Director of Hamilton-Gibson Productions.
Founded in 1991, Wellsboro-based Hamilton-Gibson Productions is dedicated to offering a creative space for community members to participate in the performing arts in Tioga County through programs both on and off the stage.
The winning nomination for Hamilton-Gibson Productions was submitted by community member Michele Comes.
“UGI is pleased to present this check to Hamilton-Gibson Productions to help support their mission to provide opportunities to engage in the performing arts in Tioga County,” said Lisa Ninotti, UGI Utilities Community Relations Program Manager for UGI’s North Region. “This social media campaign is part of a larger effort by UGI Utilities to support non-profit organizations that enrich the communities we serve.”
In addition to Hamilton-Gibson Productions, four other organizations across UGI’s service territory received $500 donations from UGI: One by One Cat Rescue, Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center, Luzerne County Pit Bull Owners and Compassionate Friends of the Lehigh Valley.
UGI Utilities’ headquarters is located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The utility serves more than 648,000 natural gas and electric customers in eastern and central Pennsylvania.
