UGI Electric Continues to Restore Service to Customers Affected by Storm – Update: 4:00 p.m.
16 Apr 2019
UGI crews continue to work to restore service to approximately 280 customers who remain without power due to the high winds and severe thunderstorms that crossed through the area early Monday morning. Originally, more than 12,000 customers lost power as a result of the storms.
Mutual aid in the form of 24 employees from Central Hudson Gas and Electric arrived early this morning and joined UGI Electric employees as well as contractor crews in restoration efforts.
Most of the remaining outages are in Fairmount Township, which is located on the western edge of UGI’s service area. UGI has made a number of repairs to its system leading into the Fairmont area, and significant personnel are currently working in Fairmount Township to restore service. UGI hopes to have most customers restored before the end of the day.
