(April 19, 2013) – UGI Utilities, Inc., will be donating clothing to assist underprivileged individuals and families as part of its celebration of National Volunteer Week, which begins Sunday and continues through April 27.
“Every year, UGI commemorates National Volunteer Week with special activities conducted across our 45-county Pennsylvania service area to help residents of our communities,’’ said Robert F. Beard, President and CEO.
Items collected will be donated locally to Volunteers of America, 401 New Grove St., Wilkes-Barre, and American Rescue Workers – Williamsport Corps, 643 Elmira St.
Additionally, UGI will include highlights and special posts about our National Volunteer Week efforts on our “UGI Connection” blog (blog.ugi.com) and on our Facebook (facebook.com/ugiutilities) and Twitter (twitter.com/ugi_utilities) social media pages.
To further celebrate National Volunteer Week, UGI will be holding special book distributions as part of its highly successful and unique motivational reading partnership with the Reading Is Fundamental® (RIF) children’s literacy organization, now in its 22nd year.
