UGI employees and family members recently participated in the inaugural Great City of Reading Clean-Up, focusing their efforts on the 11th and Pike Playground.
Employees from UGI’s Morgantown Road, Spring Ridge and StonePointe offices aided in the effort, which was spearheaded by Reading Beautification, Inc., a community-based organization whose mission is to serve as the leading advocate and facilitator for a cleaner and more beautiful Reading.
The 11th and Pike Playground was selected in part because several UGI volunteers – Melissa Zogas, Matt Lowther and Jessica Cintron – grew up in the area and enjoyed playing in the park as children. Melissa and her family still live nearby.
Volunteers raked leaves, picked up trash, and weeded garden beds at the recreation center.
