UGI Experiencing Customer Outage in South Bethlehem – UPDATE Red Cross Warming Center available on East 4th Street in Bethlehem
13 Jan 2017
UGI continues to work to restore natural gas service to approximately 560 homes in South Bethlehem experiencing an interruption in service.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley has established a warming center for affected residents at the Andrew W. Litzenberger House, 225 E. 4th Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015. The shelter will open at 7:30 and remain open through the conclusion of the outage.
In order to complete repairs and restore service to the area, UGI has turned off natural gas service at each individual home. UGI will need to enter all homes affected to turn on natural gas service and re-light appliances. UGI expects that process to begin at approximately 7 p.m. Under no circumstances should a customer attempt to turn on their natural gas service.
Customers need to be aware that someone must be home for UGI to restore natural gas service to their residence. UGI service crews will be in the area and going door-to-door in the South Bethlehem community to restore service to customers.
Customers can call UGI at 1-800-276-2722 for additional information of restoration of natural gas service to their property.
