UGI Experiencing Electric Power Outages

Wilkes-Barre, PA – UGI Utilities – Electric Division is currently experiencing two outages affecting approximately 4,000 customers.

An outage in the Swoyersville area is impacting approximately 3,000 customers. UGI crews are on the scene and the Company expects to restore service to customers in the area by 11 a.m.

A second outage is affecting an additional 1,000 customers in the Kunkle area. UGI has dispatched crews and is currently assessing the cause of that outage and establishing a timeframe for restoration.

UGI thanks all of its customers affected by these outages for their patience and understanding.  Please be assured UGI is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

UGI reminds customers and community members to be safe and to always avoid downed power lines and stay away from any electrical equipment that is partially or totally submerged in water. Customers encountering downed power lines or submerged equipment are advised to contact UGI Electric immediately at 1-800-276-2722.

If you are a residential customer with special needs and have an emergency, please contact your regional 911 center. Special needs customers calling UGI to report an outage should identify themselves to the customer service representative. UGI can provide information to assist you in connecting to your local 911 center.
