UGI Named “Environmental Champion” in National Utility Survey
01 May 2019
UGI Utilities, Inc. was among 29 utility companies nationwide that were named a 2019 “Environmental Champion” in a recent study by Cogent Reports™, a division of Market Strategies International – Morpace.
This is the second consecutive year that UGI has been named an Environmental Champion.
“Consumers have become more environmentally conscious and now expect the companies they use to share the same concern,” Chris Oberle, senior vice president at Market Strategies International – Morpace, said. “The good news is that our research shows that utilities have responded to these expectations and are being viewed through a more positive environmental lens by their customers.”
The Utility Trusted Brand and Customer Engagement™: Residential, study measures such company attributes as its dedication to supporting the environment by promoting clean energy, enabling consumption management, facilitating environmental causes, encouraging environmentally friendly fleets and buildings, and consistently seeking ways to protect the environment.
“UGI is very pleased to be among the Cogent Reports™ 2019 Environmental Champions,” Robert Beard, President and CEO of UGI Utilities, Inc., added. “Natural gas is both a clean and efficient fuel, and UGI has a number of innovative programs designed to expand the use of natural gas and help our customers in both our natural gas and electric service area become more energy efficient.”
Cogent Reports surveyed more than 61,000 residential electric, natural gas and combination utility customers of the 140 largest U.S. utility companies.
