UGI Names Heisler New Human Resources VP

Reading, PA (June 15, 2012) — UGI Utilities, Inc., has appointed Karen M. Heisler as Vice President of its Human Resources Department.

Ms. Heisler, of Huntingdon Valley, succeeds James L. Budd, who will retire later this year.

“Karen comes to UGI with a wealth of experience in virtually all aspects of human resources,’’ said Robert F. Beard, President and CEO, UGI Utilities, Inc. “I am confident that she will continue the excellent work Jim has done in making our human resources team among the best in the utility industry.’’

Ms. Heisler has more than 25 years experience as a Chief Human Resources/Administrative Officer and consultant, primarily in the health care and telecommunications industries. She has vast experience in: talent management and acquisition; benefits administration; employee and labor relations; workers’ compensation; unemployment compensation; succession, workforce and strategic planning; organizational training and development; retirement administration; policy development; and facilities management.

Most recently, Ms. Heisler worked as a consultant providing guidance on human resource matters to companies nationwide. She has held executive positions at companies including Comcast Corporation, Pegasus Communications and Precyse Solutions.

Ms. Heisler holds a bachelor of science degree in Journalism from Temple University and a master of science degree in Management from LaSalle University.
