READING, PA. November 14, 2014 – UGI Penn Natural Gas (UGI-PNG) will begin a natural gas main replacement project on Monday, November 17 that will impact traffic in the 100 – 300 blocks of Meadow Avenue, and on the 1000 block of River Street in Scranton, PA. The project is expected to be complete, weather permitting, by the end of the workday on Wednesday, November 19. Construction work will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.
UGI-PNG will have flaggers in the construction area to control traffic at the intersection of Meadow Avenue and River Street. Drivers should be aware that these roads will be open to traffic during construction, but lane closures will be in effect while work is in progress. In addition, local commuters should note that a detour will be in place for west-bound traffic exiting from I-81 onto River Street during the construction project. This traffic will be detoured past Meadow Avenue to avoid the work zone.
Individuals with questions are asked to contact UGI at 800.276.2722.
