UGI Penn Natural Gas to Temporarily Close Street as Part of Infrastructure Betterment Project

14 Mar 2014

READING, PA, March 14, 2014  –  UGI Penn Natural Gas will be temporarily closing one lane of North Broad Street between the intersection of Spruce Street and Apple Alley in the borough of Selinsgrove. The lane closure will allow UGI to improve our facilities serving the community and extend natural gas service to Susquehanna University.

The affected portion of Broad Street will be restricted during the daily construction activities.  UGI will make every effort at the end of each construction day to minimize the restrictions and any inconveniences for the residents of Broad Street.  UGI is planning an early April, 2014 start with a completion goal of mid-May, 2014.

“UGI recognizes that some residents will be inconvenienced during this project and will work to complete construction in a timely manner,” Robert P. Krieger, vice president of operations, said. “This project is part of UGI’s continuing commitment to provide safe and reliable natural gas service to our customers and our communities and we appreciate our customers’ and the community’s understanding as we make this long-term system improvement. We appreciate Selinsgrove’s cooperation and assistance in planning and executing this effort.”

Residents along North Broad Street who are interested in obtaining natural gas service please contact us at 1-800-276-2722 or go to www.ugi.com/maketheswitch for more information. Homeowners who convert from fuel oil or electric heat typically see annual savings of $1,500.
