UGI to Temporarily Detour Truck Traffic during Lime Street Construction Project
01 Jun 2020
UGI Utilities, Inc. will detour truck traffic away from the intersection of Lime Street and Church Street during the weeks of June 8 and June 15 as work continues on a gas main replacement project. The detour will re-direct trucks traveling on South Duke Street and South Queen Street.
Details of the detour include:
- Message boards will be placed at South Duke Street and South Queen Street announcing the detour in advance.
- Signs will direct trucks from South Duke Street to turn onto Farnum Street to Queen Street. From Queen Street, traffic will be directed to East Chestnut Street to return to North Lime Street. Flaggers will direct normal traffic through the jobsite.
- No Parking signs will be posted at Farnum and South Queen Street to allow trucks to safely turn onto South Queen Street.
- Construction hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The detour is being done for safety considerations due to the narrow roadway in that part of the construction area. The Lime Street project is part of the Company’s multi-year infrastructure betterment initiative and is being completed ahead of a scheduled paving project by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 2021.
