UGI Utilities Conducts Company-Wide Event to Mark Second Anniversary of Allentown Tragedy

08 Feb 2013

Company-wide Safety Stand Down and Moment of Silence Allows Employees to Honor Those Affected by the Events that Took Place on February 9, 2011

Reading, PA – Today, UGI conducted a company-wide Safety Stand Down and moment of silence to remember those whose lives were lost and those who were impacted by the events that occurred on the night of Feb. 9, 2011 at North 13th Street in Allentown, PA.

The Stand-down began with a moment of silence to remember those lost or impacted by the explosion in Allentown. Employees then received safety-related presentations. Field employees also took the opportunity to conduct a check of personal safety equipment – such as high-visibility vests, hardhats, and safety and detection equipment, among other items – required while working at a job site.

UGI knows that it is the Company’s responsibility to safely and reliably serve our customers. We take our responsibility seriously. The Allentown Incident 2nd Anniversary Safety Stand Down served as a further reminder to all UGI employees of our continuing commitment to safety as UGI continues to enhance and expand its facility replacement and betterment program.
