Recognizing Our Employees Who Make a Difference in Our Communities.

11 Jul 2022

Since 1882, UGI has been committed to supporting the communities we serve through support of key focus areas, including education, disaster response, community outreach, and the environment. Recently, a group of employees donated their time to help those in need.

Erica Strain, who works in UGI’s Reading office, was recently a volunteer at Opportunity House in Reading Pa., which provides families, veterans and single men and women with food and emergency shelter, as well as childcare at their Learning Center. Opportunity House changes lives by feeding, housing, employing and empowering people to stand on their own feet. Erica, along with other UGI volunteers, prepared and served dinner to approximately 60 clients at Opportunity House.

“I participated in the Opportunity House dinner event as a way to become more involved in my local community. Although it sometimes feels challenging to fit participation in volunteer activities into a busy schedule, I always walk away from these opportunities feeling as though I’ve made a difference and excited for future events. It’s also a good way to stay connected with the community and do something positive for those in need.”

UGI is proud of employees like Erica, who get involved in their community to help those in need. For more information about the work our employees do with many organizations throughout the areas where we live and work, visit us  at www.ugi.com/community.
