UGI Stresses Natural Gas and Carbon Monoxide Safety as Fall Arrives

08 Oct 2021

This is an especially important time of the year to review natural gas and carbon monoxide safety tips. Visit our Safety page for detailed safety information. Please share this link and safety tips with friends, family, and across social media and other channels.

Natural Gas: Be aware of telltale signs that natural gas is present where it shouldn’t be  – and what to do about it. A chemical that sells much like rotten eggs is added to naturally odorless natural gas so it can be detected.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, tasteless, colorless, toxic gas produced by incomplete burning of fuels. UGI urges customers to install CO detectors. If a CO detector goes off: immediately move everyone (including pets) outside to fresh air and call UGI at 1-800-276-2722 or 911.
