UGI Urges Customers to Be Vigilant Against Scammers

UGI reminds customers to stay alert for scams targeting customers both online and in person. Scammers may pose as utility employees, use fake phone numbers found through online ads, or go door-to-door trying to collect money.
Be extra cautious when searching for the UGI Utilities phone number online. UGI is aware of scammers creating fake ads and websites that look legitimate but actually lead to fraudulent phone numbers. These numbers are not connected to UGI and may be used to pressure customers into paying for services.
The only official UGI Utilities phone number is 800-276-2722. Customers should use this number for all billing and account-related questions, service requests, or to report a natural gas or electric emergency.
Protect Yourself From Online Fraud
If you encounter suspicious ads or websites, take these steps:
- Always ask for I.D. UGI workers are required to carry photo identification. UGI meter readers, inspectors, and service representatives routinely wear uniforms with a UGI logo and drive marked vehicles.
- Scrutinize all emails. Check sender email addresses carefully for slight misspellings or unusual domain names.
- Be aware of sponsored online ads displaying a fraudulent phone number when searching for UGI.
