Always Call 811 Before You Dig

PHMSA, the Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, states that damage to underground utility lines by excavation continues to be one of the most common reasons for incidents that result in service outages, property damage and injuries or fatalities nationwide.

Common Ground Alliance, the national safe digging organization, states that over 99% of the time when 811 is called prior to digging to mark the utility lines, damages are avoided – yet 30% of all damages are the result of people not calling 811.
