Natural Gas-Fueled Buses Keep Fans Moving
30 Sep 2025
A fleet of transit buses fueled by UGI natural gas once again served as the trusted and valuable utility player during this year’s Little League World Series in Williamsport.
Many players and fans relied on River Valley Transit Authority buses to get to and from games. The buses run on compressed natural gas (CNG) which comes from a station in Williamsport where UGI extended natural gas service to in 2013.
Natural gas vehicles have a higher-octane rating, are more fuel efficient, have lower operating costs, and produce fewer emissions compared to gasoline or diesel engines.
UGI’s own fleet currently includes 231 CNG vehicles, with 34 more to be added in 2026.
