UGI Electric: Ready for Summer
30 Jun 2026
As warmer temperatures continue over the next few months, UGI Electric’s ongoing upgrades are helping ensure its system delivers safe, reliable power when customers need it most. Recent investments are helping build a grid that is stronger, smarter, and better prepared for severe weather.
Across its service area, UGI is upgrading poles and lines, relocating hard-to-reach circuits to roadside rights-of-way, and adding smart switching devices that can help operators reroute power more quickly when outages occur. The company is also piloting automated technology designed to isolate problem areas and restore service to unaffected customers faster.
These upgrades are paired with strong storm readiness efforts, including annual storm drills, post-storm reviews, enhanced vegetation management, and weather monitoring to help reduce outage impacts and speed restoration.
UGI’s 2026 Summer Readiness Overview discusses these investments in greater detail and is available on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s website.
