We Are UGI: Celebrating Dedicated Volunteers
29 Apr 2026
During Volunteer Month in April, UGI Utilities presents the annual Energy To Do More Volunteer Award to one UGI Utilities employee who goes above and beyond in supporting the community in which they live and work.
The winner of the 2026 Energy To Do More Volunteer Award is Dan W., Senior Supervisor Central Meter Shop!
Dan has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to our community through sustained volunteer leadership across multiple organizations. In 2025, Dan spent 200 hours volunteering in his community.
His most significant impact has been with Rock Hollow Woods in Birdsboro where he helped to transform the nature preserve into an outstanding facility for day camps and environmental education. At the preserve, Dan spearheaded disability access improvements to ensure the preserve welcomes and accommodates all community members. In 2022, Dan introduced UGI’s Community Relations team to Rock Hollow Woods, and UGI has been holding an annual volunteer project with the organization ever since, which has quickly grown to one of our largest one-day volunteer projects. Dan also serves on the board for Schuylkill Valley Youth Baseball and coaches T-ball.
Dan was presented the award at a recent UGI volunteer event at Rock Hollow Woods. Following the award presentation, more than 20 UGI employees helped the organization to remove invasive species, plant native trees and shrubs, and clean up trails.
Congratulations Dan, and thank you for your dedication to helping others in our community!
