We Are UGI – Making a Difference In Our Communities
28 Jul 2022
Raymond Bowman recently volunteered for Wyoming Valley United Way’s “Day of Caring,” which is a day to give community members a hands-on experience of the work nonprofits do. The day also allows volunteers to make connections and engage in meaningful service projects.
Ray volunteered at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA), which is an organization whose mission is to provide the highest quality of early childhood education to ensure the greatest developmental potential of all children. At the Day of Caring event, volunteers were asked to do outdoor ground clean up, helping to spring clean WVCA’s school grounds. Tasks included raking leaves, mowing grass, trimming bushes, sweeping, and gardening.
“Giving employees the empowerment to help children in need for their community is truly priceless. United Way of the Wyoming Valley and UGI Utilities recognizes this opportunity and I am proud to represent the benefits that this provides to our community.”
Each year, UGI employees from across our service territory give from the heart in support of United Way agencies with volunteer efforts or monetary donations, as part of an employee giving campaign. UGI recognizes that these contributions help to make a difference in the lives of friends and neighbors in need, while helping to build a better future for all.
We thank our employees, like Ray for their continued support of United Way and their partner agencies.
